Welcome
What Reiki feels like
Reiki is given through light, non-invasive touch — hands placed and held on a series of locations on the head and the front and back of the torso. There is nothing for you to do. Some people feel warmth, tingling or a deep sense of stillness; others simply drift into sleep.
Massage plus Reiki
A full body massage with Reiki helps to promote deep relaxation by releasing tension in the muscles. The two systems combined can create a powerful stress-reducing effect. I find that Reiki helps to direct the flow of the physical massage, allowing for a powerful, complete treatment of the whole person.
Who Reiki suits
Reiki is especially helpful when you're carrying a lot emotionally — grief, anxiety, burnout — or when you simply want a treatment that's softer than deep tissue. It's safe, gentle and can be offered fully clothed if that feels better for you.
Benefits
Why Reiki massage may help
Reiki works gently on the whole person — body, mind and emotional energy — and layers beautifully with the physical work of massage.
Deep Relaxation
A soft, sustained quality of touch that allows the whole system to slow down and let go.
Emotional Release
Helps shift emotions that have been stuck — grief, anxiety, frustration — without needing to talk it through.
Calmer Sleep
Many clients sleep deeply the night of a treatment and feel the benefit for several days after.
Settles the Nervous System
Lowers the stress response that drives so much of modern fatigue, tightness and anxiety.
Eases Physical Tension
Where Reiki meets massage, tight muscles often soften without needing strong, focused pressure.
Restores a Sense of Self
An hour of being held quietly can return a sense of groundedness when life feels scattered.
Adaptations
A treatment shaped around you
Reiki massage is one of the gentlest treatments offered. Every element is led by what feels right for you — and changed mid-session if it needs to be.
- Fully-clothed Reiki or Reiki layered into a massage
- Light, soothing touch — never deep or strong
- Quiet treatment or gentle conversation
- Soft music or near silence
- Low lighting throughout
- Reclined, lying flat or propped up
- Shorter introductory sessions available
- Easy to stop or pause at any moment
Your comfort
What to expect on the couch
Reiki is calm, contained and completely safe. There is nothing you need to do or 'feel' for the treatment to work.
- Short consultation about how you're feeling
- Warm, quiet treatment room in Buxton
- Soft lighting and gentle music — or silence
- Hands held lightly on the body, not pressing in
- Time to drift, doze or simply rest
- Gentle finish with water before you leave
